Why?
We feel that Leader Training is essential in order to have productive and safe troop activities.
All Troop 10 Adult Leaders (SM, ASMs) have completed the Basic Scoutmaster Fundimentals course also known as New
Leaders Essentials.
All Troop 10 Adult Leaders have current Youth Protection training. This too is very important to us AND the scouts.
The Scoutmaster as well as some of the Assistant Scoutmasters have Wilderness First Aid Certification, CPR
and AED certifications.
What about ADVANCED leader training?
Troop 10 also feels that Advance Adult Leader training course such as Woodbadge is important in many ways. It teaches
the troop leaders;
The "Patrol Method" of Scouting. Each leader was placed in a patrol to simulate how a Troop patrol would
function. They learn first hand the trials and tribualation of being in a patrol.
Teamwork. It the adults do not show teamwork, how can we expect it from the scouts? Everyone can
add something to the mix to make scouting with Troop 10 an enjoyable adventure.
